Some members of the AquaWind consortium actively participated in the workshop entitled ‘Gender Equality in the Blue Economy: Implementing Gender Equality Plan Models in the Marine Renewable Energy Sector’, organised by PLOCAN and SPEGC under the framework of #WINBLUE. The event, aimed at promoting the adoption of gender equality plans (GEP) in the private sector and facilitating knowledge exchange between the public and private sectors, was attended by leading actors such as Naturgy, the Council of Gran Canaria, the Government of the Canary Islands, ASTICAN and Aquatera, as well as some members of our consortium such as Consulta Europa and ACIISI.
The workshop highlighted the community’s commitment to a more inclusive and sustainable blue economy, focusing on moving towards equal opportunities in this sector. Attendees showed their enthusiasm and valuable contributions, consolidating synergies to encourage greater female participation in marine renewable energies.
This event is a clear demonstration of the commitment of AquaWind and its partners to sustainability, gender equality and boosting the blue economy.
