AquaWind will be present at the XIX National Aquaculture Congress (XIX-CNA), which will be held from 17 to 19 June 2024 at the prestigious Alfredo Kraus Auditorium in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. This event is organised by the Spanish Aquaculture Society (SEA) in collaboration with the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (ULPGC) and its Aquaculture Research Group (GIA), attached to the University Institute of Sustainable Aquaculture and Marine Ecosystems (IU-ECOAQUA).
The ULPGC was chosen to host the congress due to its exceptional infrastructure resources, its strong institutional support, and its outstanding track record in research and transfer in the aquaculture sector. The ULPGC, founded in 1989, has established itself as a public institution committed to quality and efficiency in teaching and research, and has stood out for its tricontinental approach and its commitment to Marine Sciences as one of the pillars of its Campus of International Excellence Tricontinental Atlantic Campus (CEI Canarias).
The Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands, where the ULPGC is located, is known for its rich biodiversity and unique marine environment, which makes it an ideal setting for aquaculture. The Canary Islands has focused its efforts on diversification towards a Blue and Circular Economy, identifying Marine-Maritime Sciences and Biotechnology as priority areas for economic development based on innovation and knowledge.
The XIX-CNA is presented as an essential platform for interaction between scientific institutions, administrations, companies and associations, strengthening the knowledge ecosystem and promoting cutting-edge and sustainable aquaculture. In this context, AquaWind, together with other key players in the sector, will actively participate in the congress, contributing with its experience and knowledge to address the challenges and opportunities of the future of aquaculture.
