AquaWind project showcased at the I Salón Náutico de Canarias

The European project AquaWind took part in the I Salón Náutico de Canarias, held from 19 to 21 September at the Tenerife Trade Fair Centre, where it was present throughout the weekend at the stand of the Canary Islands Maritime Cluster.

At the stand, visitors were able to learn more about the objectives and progress of this pioneering initiative, which combines offshore wind energy with aquaculture, strengthening the Canary Islands’ position as a strategic hub for maritime innovation.

On Friday, 19 September, the project coordinator, Javier Roo, gave a presentation as part of the event, outlining AquaWind’s vision and scope, and highlighting the importance of creating synergies between key sectors for the future of the archipelago.

The I Salón Náutico de Canarias, organised by the Island Council of Tenerife and the Tenerife Trade Fair Institution (IFTSA), was supported by organisations such as FEMETE, Asnáutica, the Canary Islands Maritime Cluster, Turmar Canarias and Fedesport. This first edition aims to establish itself as the leading event for the nautical sector in the islands, promoting business development, the professionalisation of related services and the growth of maritime tourism.
